Breeders of the Republic of Yakutia are sounding the alarm: in the region, low survival rates among domestic reindeer are recorded. This is due to nutritional deficiency, which inevitably entails the depletion of animals and a low survival rate among young animals.
So, on average, only 47% of deer (about 32 thousand newborn animals) survive in republican farms. The lowest rates are recorded in the Kolyma-Indigirsky districts - there the survival rate stabilized at the level of 18%.

Today, the leaders of the region are trying to maximize the stable survival in the stock of domestic deer. In parallel, the authorities of Yakutia are revising the processing of deer meat, horns and skins. In the near future, it is planned to open an innovative laboratory, the main profile of which is to study the medicinal properties of deer antlers and their processing for cosmetic purposes. Representatives of South Korea will help the Yakuts in the research.
