The village of Veliky Komyaty, Vinogradovskiy district, Transcarpathian region can be called the flower capital of Ukraine. Here, in family greenhouses, many flowers are grown all year round, which are sold throughout the country.
Natalia Lukanich from the village of Veliky Komyaty has been engaged in flowers for 10 years. Before that, she grew garden crops such as cabbage and tomatoes. The flower farm started with three packs of seeds that were purchased for testing.
Natalia herself says that it is more profitable and pleasant to grow flowers, only there is no less work with them than with vegetables. Family members and several workers help her take care of the flowers. The farm is controlled by 83-year-old grandfather of Natalia Andrey Khripta.Every year in the Great Komyata the number of home greenhouse farms for growing flowers is growing. The products of these greenhouses are sold throughout Ukraine. So, in the season wholesale buyers come from Lviv, Kiev, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye and other cities for flowers. Local products can also be bought in small Transcarpathian markets.
Prices for it start from 4 UAH. The most expensive flower is sulfinia. It is sold at a price of 100 UAH / pc. This price is explained by the exceptional capriciousness of sulfinia, which leads to increased labor costs for its cultivation.
