The leader of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in honor of the New Year and Christmas holidays, presented to his colleague from Russia, Vladimir Putin, an unusual gift - four bags of potatoes and a delicious piece of high-quality bacon.
Such information was published by the press secretary of the administration of the Belarusian president, Natalya Eismont.
According to her, each bag had a unique variety of potatoes intended for certain purposes: in one there were tubers ideally suited for frying, in the other there was a variety that was purposely created for the preparation of potato pancakes. In the third bag was a potato, which makes a wonderful mashed potato. And in the fourth - as if specially grown for flowing.
According to Natalya Eismont, Putin himself asked Lukashenko about such a gift when his Belarusian colleague asked him: “What should you give for the New Year?”
Lukashenko’s colleagues from other countries were also left without gifts - Alexander Grigoryevich presented them with Christmas tree decorations, made to order manually by Belarusian craftsmen.
