Authorized employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor negotiated with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia on the possible lifting of previously imposed restrictions on the import of Serbian products into the Russian Federation.
The meeting was held in Moscow. The delegates of the Republic of Serbia assured their Russian colleagues that today, fruits and other farm products grown in the Serbian expanses no longer pose a potential danger to Russian consumers.
Note that at the end of the summer of 2018, the employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor revealed more than a hundred cases of the presence of such a garden pest as brown moniliosis rot in a large consignment of nectarines and peaches that arrived in the Russian Federation from Serbia.Representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture claim that in their country all measures have been taken to eliminate the pest. Including thanks to the recommendations that Rosselkhoznadzor employees shared with Serbian agrarians.
In this regard, the Russian supervisory authority in the very near future will inspect those enterprises in Serbia that are involved in the production of stone fruits for import. Both parties are ready to sign an agreement on quarantine and plant protection issues. It remains only to recognize Serbian fruits as suitable for import and sale on the territory of the Russian Federation.
