For the third day in a row, the Republic of Belarus has introduced a temporary taboo on the export of chicken, live chickens, as well as eggs and other poultry products made or used in the territory of the Russian Republic of Chechnya.
Temporary restrictions and the ban on the import of Russian products are related to the fact that cases of infection of the livestock with the Newcastle disease virus have become more frequent in the territories of Chechen poultry farms and other farm and peasant farms.
The fact that the causative agent of pseudo-plague was raging in the territory of the North Caucasus republic, the Belarusian side learned through the mailing list of the International Epizootic Bureau. Data on Newcastle disease in Chechen poultry farms reached the Department of Veterinary Surveillance and Food Control at the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture, and a ban was immediately imposed on the supply of chicken and other poultry products. It should be noted that today in the territory of the Republic of Belarus it is forbidden to import (for sale or transit movements) agricultural products from the Chechen Republic, such as: chicken meat and offal, chilled or frozen, live chickens, chicken eggs and their products, feed and food additives for feed containing bone meal, as well as bird feathers and down.
The ban expiration time is not currently reported.
