Plots with an increased number of caterpillars of biting scoops were identified by experts of the Phytosanitary Safety Department in winter wheat crops of the Cherkasy region.
Most pests were recorded in the Gorodishchensky, Katerinopolsky, Smelyansky and Cherkasy regions. After that, they pupate, and in mid-May become moths.
Then the flight of butterflies of the first generation will begin. In addition to the scoop, in the winter crops after the predecessors, the larvae of the bread moth continue to be fed.To protect winter grains from pest damage, phytosanitary is advised to process crops with approved insecticides. Information about them can be obtained from the "List of pesticides and agrochemicals approved for use in Ukraine."
In addition, farmers should remember that the harmfulness of biting scoops is affected by the early and reduced time of sowing crops, ensuring optimal plant density and the conditions of their dew and development. Such crops are less susceptible to scoop attack. During pupation, loosening of the soil gives a good effect, and during the flight of butterflies - the use of trichograms.Share
