This year, the sowing campaign in the vast Arkhangelsk region ended much earlier than originally planned.
And in this case, you can thank not only the coordinated and efficient work of local farmers, but also, to a greater extent, favorable weather conditions. Currently, regional farmers are involved in the process of harvesting feed for livestock.
Work has been ongoing since early June in the vast Ustyansky, Velsky and Kargopol regions. But in other regions of the region, representatives of agro-industrial production enterprises began the procurement process a month later than the indicated municipalities.
To date, the farmers of the Arkhangelsk region have jointly managed to stockpile four thousand eight hundred tons of hay, over twenty three thousand tons of hay, more than one hundred and twelve and a half thousand tons of silage.
To date, the region’s cows account for about twenty-nine thousand tons of feed units.
They do not intend to stop on what has been achieved in the region. In addition, there are still almost two months ahead of intensive procurement work, which will end, judging by analysts' forecasts, only in the last days of September.
Perhaps the work could have been faster and more active if it had not been for the rainfall, which now and then falls on certain regions of the region. In this regard, agrarians of Arkhangelsk and its environs rely on dry weather, in which it will be comfortable to work in the field.
So far, only equipment feels comfortable in harvesting field sites - fifteen combine harvesters, over two forty-five mowers, over a thousand tractors, as well as one hundred and thirty-seven tractor rakes and forty-nine forage harvesters.
