Every year the number of farms wishing to grow amaranth is increasing more and more. In 2019, more than 10 Ukrainian agricultural enterprises plan to allocate sown areas for amaranth, said the head of the Association of Amaranth and Amaranth Products Manufacturers Oleksandr Duda, made during the III International Congress of Organic Ukraine 2019.

Given the natural climatic conditions of Ukraine, as well as the fertility of its lands, we can talk about the high productivity of growing amaranth. With such data, Ukraine has every chance of becoming a world leader in the production of this culture. Already, amaranth seeds grown on Ukrainian soil are superior to Pakistani, Indian and Peruvian in several respects. At the same time, the cost of cultivating it does not exceed 400 € / ha, says Alexander Duda.

The experience of 2017-2018 showed that amaranth deficiency in Ukraine fails to find an equivalent substitute in other countries. And this is the great advantage of Ukrainian amaranth. Amaranth is highly regarded throughout the world. This culture is widely used in medicine and cosmetology. In Ukraine, organic cereals, cereals, oil are made from amaranth.

Amid the changing climatic conditions, amaranth remains a demanded culture, as it is resistant to drought and gives the highest yields on the territory of Ukraine, summarizes Alexander Duda.
