In retail outlets in the southern regions of the Russian Federation, there is a significant reduction in watermelons in wholesale and retail.
According to gourds, watermelons are in such high demand among consumers that the supply of goods has been minimized. Fortunately, the shortage of watermelons did not provoke a rise in price of this culture in the southern markets of the country.
It is noteworthy that farmers do not just not increase the prices for melons, but, on the contrary, in some cases even lower them in order to finally sell off the still-high-quality remains of watermelons and melons.
So, today, watermelon producers in the Southern Federal District sell their supplies at a price that varies from one ruble to three per kilo, depending on the region.
We add that this indicator is more than twenty-five percent inferior to prices for watermelons, which were fixed on the southern markets of the Russian Federation in the same period in 2018. As for the watermelons of the so-called substandard category, in this case we are talking about the average price of eighty kopecks per kilogram of product.
It will not be superfluous to note that this season the end of the sale of watermelons practically coincides with the end of sales of this culture in the past, 2018.
