Havva Inank, a farmer in the city of Eskil, Turkey's Aksaray province, has been cultivating pharmaceutical plants for the past 6 years, but now she has begun to grow purple strawberries from imported Chinese seeds.
Currently, the producer grows purple strawberries on an area of 0.4 ha., And the demand for this product is growing rapidly.
Currently, the manufacturer sends its products to various Turkish cities, such as Kahramanmaras, Konya, Sivas, Tokat and Canakkale.
Havva received a 6-year training course provided by the Konya Municipality. After that, she visited many greenhouses in neighboring cities to learn more about the production processes.
Later, she began her own production at pharmaceutical plants. She continued to attend various courses in order to learn more about greenhouse production, and therefore, at one of these courses she contacted a Chinese exporter, who recommended that she experiment with purple strawberries.
Currently, the producer produces about 1 ton of berries per year.
The manufacturer also noted that 2 academics from Kayseri Ercies University are testing the use of this strawberry in the treatment of diabetes. Currently, the price of this strawberry is about $ 5 per 1 kg.
