The beginning of this week was marked for the residents of the Stavropol Territory by a real weather element - a hail fell on the region, which caused irreparable damage to vast agricultural land.
In total, as a result of precipitation in the form of hail in the Stavropol Territory, 4.3 thousand hectares were allotted for cultivating garden crops and winter crops. Experts of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory analyzed the situation and reported that from 1 to 35% of the crop in different regions of the region was damaged by hail.
The farmers suffered the greatest damage - St. George's urban district of the region - here, according to preliminary data, about two hundred hectares of garden plantations and at least 1.8 thousand hectares of fields with winter crops were damaged. In total, 2 thousand hectares of agricultural land suffered as a result of hail in the urban district.As for the Kirov city district, there were significant losses: the city almost destroyed about 800 hectares of fields with winter crops and damaged peas planted on 700 hectares of the area.
If we talk about the damage after the disaster in the Piedmont region, the fields with winter crops (more than 625 hectares) and gardens that cover an area of 170 hectares were affected here.Also, hail precipitation was observed in the Petrovsky and Shpakovsky districts of the Stavropol Territory, in the Kochubeyevsky and Budenovsky districts. However, vegetation was not affected on the lands of these areas.
