Serbia's breeders complain about the invasion of bears that steal their livestock. In recent months, animals have killed about 40 goats and sheep, and the herds of herders from Clack have suffered the most damage.
The bears feast again around Ovac. Houses are closed after dark and people do not go outside without urgent need.
Like two years ago, this fall the greatest damage was done to pastoralists from Klak in Senica, as well as in Mutavdzhichi, Pole, Tavnik. Farms on the opposite side of the river are also affected.
Local residents repeatedly asked the authorities to protect them, but ran into indifference. Cries for help are getting louder and louder from the village on the opposite side of the river, where a bear slaughtered six sheep from Milos Belic from Radoindzhi.
Based on the clues that the animals leave, the locals claim that more bears travel the mountain, including some extremely large specimens.
“Murtenitsa is full of animals that go to mountain villages in search of food and cause damage. Neighbors from the village closer to Uvats say that in several cases at a distance of about 100-150 m. They saw a big bear walking in broad daylight.
And in the mountains they regularly see two bears, ”says Radisa Kutlasic, president of the local Draglitsa community in other villages.
